Developmental Counseling
Mid to End  June 2015   Orientations for Semester III students held by HOD and faculty members: June 22nd:
Industrial psychology, June 23rd Counseling psychology, June 24th: Clinical psychology
June 24th 2015 Wednesday PhD interviews
June and early July   MA Semester I Admission process continues. Students apply through online portal.
Department offers 25 seats each in M.A. Clinical/ Counseling/Industrial psychology and
Career and Developmental Counseling. Merit lists are displayed and Semester I
students inducted.
June 22nd, 2015 Monday Lectures for Semester III begin
July 15th, 2015 Wednesday One day Dissertation format standardization Roundtable for all SNDT PG Psychology
teachers. Co-ordinators Dr.s Thakre and Ms. Sanu Facilitators: Dr. Sovani and
Dr. Purandare
July 5th and 6th 2015   Centenary year celebrations begin
July 13th,, 2015   Semester I lectures begin, although admissions for few remaining seats may continue
MMid July 2015   Workshop on Projective techniques in child assessment
EEnd July 2015   Meetings to finalize eligibility of MA semester I admissions, keeping to all rules
regarding reservations.
28th July 2015 Tuesday Student visit to Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Hearing Handicapped
AAugust first week 2015   Training workshop for students on tests for intelligence and psychomotor performance
AAugust third week 2015   Mid Semester internal tests and assignments
August 19th and 20th 2015 Wednesday and Thursday TTwo day Research methodology workshop for Psychology teachers. Conducted by
Dr. Purandare. Venue: Computer laboratory, Churchgate.
September , 15th 2015 Tuesday WWorkshop by Dr. Michelle Stack, University of British Columbia on qualitative methods,
jointly held by Department of Economics and Department of Psychology.
September end/October first half 2015   Completion of various syllabi in preparation for semester end examination
October 5th to 10th 2015 Monday to Saturday UUGC Human Resource Development Center invites Department of Psychology to
conduct a Short Course for teachers on Role of a Teacher in Building Student Potential
October 9th   Psychology students put up street plays at Nair hospital for mental health week
October 16th and 19th,, 2015 Friday and Monday Workshop on neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation
October 13th to 15th 2015 Tuesday to Thursday MMental Health week programs completed. Poster exhibition by students on display in
the lobby. Street play presented by students.
October 30th 2015 Friday Joint program on Kashmir: An insider’s perspective by Departments of Psychology and History. Speaker: Dr. Jyotsna Singh.
November 2nd to 6th Monday, Wednesday, Friday Semester III practicum examinations

January 8, 2016 Friday VVisit to IIT – B to see neuropsychological laboratory in the Humanities and Social
sciences wing
January 2016   SStudents Counseling psychology and Semester II students opting for Counseling
psychology conduct career testing for school students under supervision of Faculty of
the Department and Counselor of the Center.
January 2016   Discussions re. Internship placement, and Semester IV students join organizations for
Internship.
February 2016   Invited lecture on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
February 2016   Therapy workshop on mindfulness approaches
February 2016   Invited lecture on Transactional analysis
FFebruary, 2016   Department jointly hosts annual conference of BPA since Presidential office is with us.
FFebruary 2016   Psychology Student association program, under joint auspices of Counseling center and
Department of Psychology
February and March 2016   Various Field trips and institutional visits organized for Semester II and Semester IV students, accompanied by faculty.
MMarch 2016   Dissertation guidance continues. Students meet faculty regularly for direction and
advice.
March 2016   Internships continue
