SNDT Women’s University (SNDT WU) has a long history of global interface. Our founder, Bharat Ratna Maharshi Karve was impressed with the setup of Women’s university in Japan and had adopted a number of its best practices while setting up of this first Women’s University of South East Asia in 1916.
Internationalisation in higher education is becoming increasingly important in today's globalised world. Internationalisation of higher education promotes sharing of best academic and research practices through interactions between diverse education systems, and helps in developing global citizens through academic collaborations and mobility of faculty and students. SNDT WU has also undertaken a number of Internationalisation initiatives on similar lines
Inauguration of the International Cell of the SNDT Women's University
The International Cell of the SNDT Women's University, Mumbai, India was formally inaugurated on Feb. 21, 2023 at the auspicious hands of Shri Rakesh Naithani, Special Secretary to the Governor and OSD, Raj Bhavan at the Juhu campus of the University. Prof. Ujwala Chakradeo, Hon. Vice - Chancellor of SNDT Women’s University presided over the ceremony. Dr. Anthony E. Munroe, President, BMCC-CUNY, USA; Ms. Brenda Soya, Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate, Mumbai; Mr. Sanjay Ramdath, Vice President - Enrollment, BMCC-CUNY graced the occasion. Prof. Ruby Ojha, Hon. Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Vilas Nandavadekar, Registrar; Mr. Vikas Desai, Finance And Accounts Officer; Dr. Nitin Wani, Coordinator of the International Cell; International Cell committee members; teaching staff and students of the University were also present.
Prof. Neil Philip and Prof. Paramita Sen from BCC-CUNY had joined online. The congratulatory video notes of Dr. Thomas A. Isekenegbe, President, BCC – CUNY and Dr. Suresh G Joshi, Director & Professor, Drexel Biomed India and Brazil programs at Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA were also played during the ceremony.
