The Centennial Year rally started with a
formal function organized by the Karve Stree
Shikshan Sanstha, Karve Nagar, Pune. The
students participating in the rally along
with more than 800 students from the SNDT
Arts and Commerce College for Women, Pune
were present for the function. The programme
started by paying tribute to Maharshi Karve
at the Samadhi. The lighting of torch took
place at the hands of the local corporator
Mrs. Madhuri Sastrabuddhe.
The Rally stopped at Maharshi Karve’s Statue
on the Karve Road for a few minutes and then
proceeded to the SNDT University’s Pune
Campus.
The formal inaugural Programme of this Rally
took place in Tarapore Hall at 4.30 p.m. at
the hands of Dr. Madhari Waghchoure,
Principal, Chanrashekhar Agashe College of
Physical Education. Dr. Anil Mankikar, Vice
President, Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan
Sanstha graced the occasion by his presence.
Many students and teaching-non-teaching
staff members participated in the programme.
Tomorrow the rally will proceed to Mumbai in
the morning at 6.00 a.m. |
