- JAGRANI PROJECT 'NARI SE NARAYANI' Launch at Patkar Hall
On the occasion of International Women's Day 2024, a National Seminar on 'The Contribution of Women in Nation Building since Vedic Period' unfolded on 6-7 March 2024, organized by Bharatiya, Gyan, Sanskrit Evam Yog Kendra (BHAGYASY) and the Research Centre for Women's Studies (RCWS), SNDT WU, Mumbai, in collaboration with Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy (MSHSA).
The Jagrani project was inaugurated during the event, graced by Chief Guest revered Shri. Dinesh Kumarji, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ujwala Chakradeo, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ruby Ojha, Registrar Dr. Vilas Nandavadekar, and President, MSHSA Dr. Sitala Prasad Dubey. Respected Shri. Dinesh Kumarji delivered the inaugural address 'Amrit Vachan,' emphasizing women's role in India's intellectual heritage. Hon'ble VC Prof. Ujwala Chakradeo highlighted the project's significance for women empowerment at SNDTWU in alignment with the viksit bharat@2047 campaign. Prof. Ruby Ojha noted its relevance, especially in RCWS's golden jubilee year RCWS@50, founded by Dr. Neera Desai in 1974. Dr. Jitendra Tiwari, Director BHAGYASY, welcomed the esteemed guests, while Dr. Vatsala Shoukla presented an overview of the program and visuals of 'Nari Utkarsh Pratham Sopan.'
The voices of Narayanis were represented through five distinct groups, and thirty-two Narayanis were felicitated during the ceremony. Ms. Astha Maheta shared a captivating story of a Vedic Rishika using storytelling. The inauguration also featured the launch of 'The Temples of Bharat – a Journey through Art, Architecture & Culture' by Prof. Ujwala Chakradeo. The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks from Registrar Dr. Vilas Nandavadekar, with approximately 500 participants registering their presence, marking a significant celebration of women's contributions.
