The aim of this course is to introduce and acquaint students to the rich heritage of the city in order to understand the diversity of the culture of the city and the socio-economic and cultural processes that led to its growth. The course also aims to teach students about the origins of the city as well as its historical significance. Being a combination of both theory and visual learning (which includes frequent site visits), it assists students in developing the necessary sensitivity required for the preservation and conservation of its heritage structures. Thus, this course is beneficial for students of history, archaeology, museology, journalism, architecture, tourism, and hotel management. The proposed 2 credit, 30 hours course has been split into 2 modules with 1 credit, 15 hours each.
