| About Course | Humans, as a resource, make use of a variety of natural resources in the environment to meet their basic needs. High growth of population, urbanization, changing lifestyles raise various environmental issues like pollution, environmental instability, waste generation etc. in present days. There is ever increasing garbage and it is attributed to the increase in population and due to increased consumption of goods. Waste is such a huge problem because we do not manage the waste we create. Waste further leads to wastage of all precious natural resources. Therefore, it has been attempted to address the issue of waste and solid waste to begin by applying the 4 R’s for developing the new attitudes and awareness regarding waste generation and policies for waste management. With this broad aim the curriculum of this module is structured into four submodules. |
